Dani Olmo has been asked for his opinion on some of the up and coming talents in the Barcelona squad at present.
La Masia continues to churn out incredibly exciting players and Hansi Flick has been willing to hand out debuts since taking over.
Tommy Marques has become the latest player to break into the first team under the German coach and also got the nod from Olmo as one to watch.
“Tommy Marqués. I saw him last year in the Youth League in a game I went to see Barça playing against Dinamo Zagreb and
I already informed myself,” he told Sport.
“I asked and they said that this kid had little things. I liked it and look, just this year, he came to train with us too and is more or less in the dynamic with us. And a player I also like is Juan Hernández.”
Olmo was also quizzed on recent jokes about Tommy Marques looking like Frenkie de Jong’s little brother and admitted there are definitely similarities between the two players.
“He has little things. There is a bit of a joke aesthetically, but in the way of playing I think it is too. I don’t know if he said years ago that his idol was Frenkie, so that maybe….”
Marques is already being tipped to be part of the first-team squad next season after impressing Flick with his performances in the current campaign.
