CMLL added a legends fight to their biggest show of the year. Jeff Jarrett issued a challenge to Blue Panther, and that was accepted for the 93rd Anniversary.
CMLL teased the matchup earlier in the day with a guitar icon.
During CMLL Informa on Wednesday night, Jarrett’s video aired in which he challenged Blue Panther.
Blue Panther has respect for Jarrett as a legend in his own right. The 93rd Anniversary event takes place from Arena Mexico on September 18. That happens to be Blue Panther’s birthday, and he will turn 66 years old.
Even though this will be Jarrett’s debut in CMLL at the ripe age of 59 years, the Last Outlaw is no stranger to lucha libre. Jarrett is a two-time mega champion in AAA. He’s been known to rile up the Mexican fans by throwing tortillas into the crowd. Jarrett even competed in hair versus hair against Dr. Wagner Jr. in 2018. Double J took the haircut that night.
