Erling Haaland’s Rafael Pimienta has spoken out about the Manchester City striker’s future after Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font claimed he was trying to secure a buy option on the Norway star
.As expected, Pimienta has given the talk short shrift, insisting Haaland is perfectly happy where he is and that there’s been no contact
“We have a lot of respect and admiration for Barcelona, but there hasn’t been any contact whatsoever — with Erling Haaland or with Barcelona’s management, regarding
potential transfer targets,” Pimienta told El Chiringuito de Jugones.
“Also, because the player renewed his contract a few months ago, he’s very happy at Manchester City. Everything is going very well for him and we really have nothing to discuss about a transfer when everything is so good at City.”
Pimienta’s comments are no surprise, given Haaland has signed a contract with Manchester City until 2034, and aren’t a good look for Font either as he continues in his bid to replace Joan Laporta as president.
