Falcons trade 2027 sixth-round pick to Chiefs for Wanya Morris, seventh-round pick | Atlanta Falcons
This is the second time this very offseason that the Falcons have gone to the offensive line well in Kansas City, having previously signed fellow tackle Jawaan Taylor earlier this offseason in the wake of Kaleb McGary’s retirement. Taylor had also been with the Chiefs since 2023, having started all 45 games he appeared in over the last three seasons. In fact, Morris spent much of his own time in Kansas City as a backup
to Taylor.
Morris is a Georgia native and attended state football powerhouse Grayson High School before committing to Tennessee. He spent two seasons with the Volunteers before finishing his college career with Oklahoma. Morris was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the No. 92 overall pick.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was released from the Dallas County Jail just before 9 a.m. Tuesday after serving a 30-day sentence stemming from a 2024 car crash.
Rice was arrested last month after failing a drug screening, testing positive for THC while on probation.
Right after checking out from jail, Rice ran past CBS News Texas photojournalist Tim Anders and climbed into the back seat of a black Range Rover SUV that was waiting for him on Commerce Street. Rice did not respond when Anders asked if he had anything to say to his fans.
Mahomes family arrives at Arrowhead Stadium for first Kansas City World Cup match | FOX4
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes were spotted arriving at Arrowhead Stadium for a different type of game day.
The couple was spotted holding hands as they arrived at GEHA Field Tuesday evening almost an hour before kick-off for the first World Cup match in Kansas City.
The Chiefs superstar presented the game ball ahead of the Argentina-Algeria match.
Patrick starred in a commercial for Adidas alongside global Argentinian soccer superstar, Lionel Messi, last year. Brittany and Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, also starred in the commercial titled “You Got This.”
There was soccer-chanting and dancing at Kansas City Stadium, where the Star-Spangled Banner ends in “… home of the Chiefs!”
In Kansas City Stadium, though, $24.35 is needed for 22-ounce draft beer, $8 for bottle of water and $59.99 FIFA T-shirt. A bag of chips seemed like a bargain at $6.84, but not the $9.59 bag of nuts.
If things seemed a little pricey at the concession stands, there were some bonding moments that fans of all languages could appreciate — especially those familiar with American football.
The Chiefs Hall of Honor on the second-level concourse contains the organization’s four Super Bowl trophies, memorabilia, exhibits and documents, and there is no admission to walk through history.
In FIFA-neutralized stadiums, though, home teams’ touches — like the Chiefs Hall of Fame names encircling the stadium’s inner bowl, including American soccer icon Lamar Hunt — are covered up.
The Chiefs Hall of Honor offers an opportunity for visitors to connect with Kansas City’s rich pro football history. Fans wearing jerseys of all teams strolled through to take in the displays and snap selfies.

Kansas City Chiefs
Settle right tackle
Add another wide receiver
Prepare Justin Fields to start. With Patrick Mahomes’ latest contract extension, the Kansas City Chiefs’ heaviest offseason lift is now done. Though everything else the team must continue to address still involves its franchise quarterback.
As of now, Mahomes’ timetable isn’t known. Considering he suffered a torn ACL and LCL in December, the odds of him being Kansas City’s starting quarterback to open the 2026 campaign remains in doubt.
In the meantime, the Chiefs’ offense must be built around Fields. The unit isn’t settled at right tackle, either. KC’s coaching staff wants an open competition between Jaylon Moore, Esa Pole and undrafted rookie Khalil Benson.
Furthermore, the Chiefs’ wide receivers shouldn’t be considered a reliable group. Aside from fifth-round rookie Cyrus Allen, who is a good fit in the slot, Kansas City didn’t add anything to the position and should consider all available options to provide a boost. Is a Tyreek Hill reunion possible?

Cameron Jordan returns to Saints on 1-year deal | ESPN
Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan will end his career in New Orleans after signing a one-year deal during the team’s minicamp Tuesday.
Jordan’s 16th NFL season likely will be his last, according to a video he posted on social media that highlighted his return. The end of the video had the tagline: “One final season.”
“I’m going to treat it like it’s the final season with intention because I believe between God and my wife, that’s the only two people that can get me back through,” Jordan said.
Jordan had his wife and four children in attendance to sign his new deal, which will be incentive-based, sources told ESPN.
Broncos’ Bo Nix has no concern over ankle: ‘I could be full go right now’ | NFL.com
“They say it’s back healthy as good as new, and I hadn’t really been like that in a couple years,” Nix said with a smirk on Tuesday, “so, my concern is I may move around a little bit better.”
The Denver Broncos quarterback spoke with the media at the start of his team’s mandatory minicamp about his road to recovery from the injury he suffered late in the Broncos’ Divisional Round playoff victory over the Bills in January, which knocked him out of an AFC Championship Game loss to the Patriots at home.
Nix’s belief? All the concern over his ankle is highly overblown.
“It’s a broken bone, for crying out loud,” he said, per DNVR Sports.
But even with Nix’s confident outlook on his fractured right ankle, it hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road to this point. He indicated he had some swelling because of bone spurs, per The Denver Post, but because Nix was head of his rehab to that point, he opted to have a cleanup on the ankle with a recent procedure following his late January surgery.
Former NFL Draft 1st Round Pick Joe Tryon-Shoyinka Retiring at 27 | Yahoo! Sports
Tryon-Shoyinka had a great run at Washington, racking up 61 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He was then selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 32nd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In four years with the Buccaneers, Tryon-Shoyinka had 138 tackles and 15 sacks. Although there were moments where he looked good, his fifth-year option wasn’t picked up. That opened the door for him to sign a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns in March 2025.
The Browns traded Tryon-Shoyinka to the Chicago Bears during the 2025 season. He then signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

Chiefs Mailbag after minicamp: Can running backs boost the pass game?
The short answer is that the running backs had better be a boost to the passing game. The Chiefs need an immediate return on their investment in the run game — and that is not only considering a lucrative contract for Kenneth Walker and trading up the draft’s third day for Nebraska’s Emmett Johnson.
The Chiefs also brought in experienced run-game voices to the offensive coaching staff, with returning coordinator Eric Bieniemy and new running backs coach DeMarco Murray. For the investment the Chiefs have made in their athletic interior offensive line trio, we also need to see backs going for large gains on screen plays.
Walker has repeatedly said in interviews since joining the Chiefs that he expects to be used more in the passing game in Kansas City than he was in Seattle.
Most would consider 2022 to be the last great year for Kansas City’s offense. In that season, the team’s top three running backs combined for 793 receiving yards. Even more production in the passing game from running backs is probably needed this season for the offense to truly rebound. As quarterback Patrick Mahomes recovers, we will also need to see the backs stepping up in pass protection immediately.
