There are few, if any, former Cleveland Browns greats that elicit the kind of response from fans like QB Bernie Kosar. The greatest Brown to ever wear the #19 jersey, Kosar made sure that he would be drafted by Cleveland by orchestrating his way to the league’s Supplemental Draft to avoid playing for the Minnesota Vikings.
Kosar’s name is a fixture on the franchise’s record book as he is third in career passing yards with 21,904, fourth in career passing touchdowns with 116, third in single-season
passing yards with 3,854, and holds three of the top 10 single-season passing marks.
In addition, Kosar’s completion percentage of 58.8 during his nine years with the Browns is better than the franchise marks of such notables as Otto Graham, Brian Sipe, Frank Ryan, Bill Nelsen, and Milt Plum.
Recent health issues have led to a lot of concern from Browns fans about one of their franchise favorites. Thankfully, Kosar is healthy enough to step into the professional wrestling world as he escorts Cleveland native Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler in the WWE) to the ring for TNA Wrestling’s Rebellion showcase event on April 11th:
Nemeth’s opponent for the event has not been announced yet.
Tickets are still available for Rebellion through Ticketmaster.
