The Steelers suffered a loss to one of their top defenders in their 35-25 defeat at the hands of the Green Bay Packers. Safety DeShon Elliott suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury while tackling
Tucker Kraft. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Monday night that he was expected to miss the rest of the season.
“The Steelers are bracing for safety DeShon Elliott to miss the rest of the season, per sources,” Fowler reports. “His ACL is intact and he’s working through the nature of the leg injury, so Pittsburgh will hold out hope, but a return is not considered likely at this point.”
However, Mike Tomlin classified Elliott’s injury as a hyperextension and clarified that he can be considered week-to-week.
While Elliott will not play against the Indianapolis Colts, the injury appears to be much less severe than initially expected.
