Could Kentucky have a first-round pick on its offensive line?
A new mock draft from CBS Sports has Wildcats offensive tackle Lance Heard being picked 25th overall in the first round by the Cincinnati Bengals.
“Heard would fit in on the Bengals’ line in the run game where he’s a certified people mover. He wouldn’t have to start right away with Orlando Brown Jr. under contract for two more seasons. With Brown’s play slipping from his peak, though, Heard would provide injury insurance in the meantime.“
Heard has certainly seen his stock rise in Lexington, and has been a major piece of Kentucky’s rebuilt offensive line at the left tackle position. If he continues playing at the current level, he could contend for a spot in the first round for a team like the Bengals that could view him as a future piece on the offensive line.
This draft has several offensive tackles that will contend for spots in the first round, but we should probably expect Heard to be in the mix.
