The Seattle Seahawks are in the middle of their one joint practice against the Tennessee Titans, and unfortunately there’s already concern regarding a fan favorite at wide receiver.
Jake Bobo, who was on the doorstep of signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars before the Seahawks matched their offer in free agency, was carted off on Friday after an apparent leg injury. Photo and video recordings during team drills are strictly prohibited at this joint practice, but beat reporters like Brady Henderson
and Gregg Bell are there and their accounts don’t sound good.
Bobo may only have 36 career catches between the regular and postseason, but he’s had a penchant for timely grabs and some spectacular touchdowns, none more important than his score against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
He’s also a contributor on special teams and one of the best blocking receivers on the roster, particularly in the run game. His immediate impact in the 2023 preseason as a rookie endeared him to fans right away.
Bobo played in last week’s preseason loss against the Dallas Cowboys, having missed several practices due to a hamstring injury.
We’ll keep tabs on Bobo’s health, with Mike Macdonald scheduled to speak to media after practice is over. This is nevertheless a very unwelcome development for the Seahawks after having a relatively healthy training camp. We can only hope that the injury isn’t as serious as described.
