The Pointer Sisters had it right in 1982 — “I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it.”
My twenty seven-year-old son and I are booked up to go and watch the pre-season game away at RC Lens on 8 August. We’re staying over for a three-night long weekend in Lens and have done it for £200 each — including accommodation, tickets for the game and getting the car on Le Shuttle.
After a slightly frustrating week during which I could buy tickets on Tuesday from Lens but had no idea where the Lads’ section of the ground
would be, our ticket office published the information on Friday.
I rang them on Tuesday but was told they had no information on tickets and didn’t know when the information would be available. Not very helpful, but something I’ve got used to over the years.
Anyway, we’re sorted for our first European away game since we qualified for the Europa League. OK, I know it’s a pre-season game but I’m still excited for it. Hopefully we avoid getting arrested or hospitalised and my wife lets me go to one of the real ones.
We can have a discussion nearer the time as to which bar(s) we all take over in Lens but for now, here’s the link for tickets, kindly provided to me by @ethanOsafc. Thanks, mate. Also, here’s a link to Le Shuttle, in case you can’t manage to type it into Google.
Anyone else going? Anyone else fancy a trip to le continent? Should be fun! I’m about to lose control…and I think I like it!
