AEW is less than two weeks away from the Full Gear PPV on Saturday, November 14. The card currently stands with six official bouts.
- AEW World Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher
- AEW Women’s World Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Marina Shafir
- AEW World Tag Team Championship: Young Bucks (c) vs. Mark Davis & Jake Doyle
- AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship: Brawling Birds (c) vs. Wrathlander
- AEW World Trios Championship: Hangman Page & Brodido (c) vs. Swerve Strickland & New Level
- Anarchy in the Arena: Death Riders vs. The Cut
The latest addition came in the women’s division. Marina Shafir stepped to Mercedes Moné as the next challenger, and now the match is official.
Shafir might pull a little bit of double duty on the night when the Death Riders battle The Cut for Anarchy in the Arena. The participants aren’t clear yet. If The Cut goes with the full squad at seven deep, then the Death Riders will be outnumbered. Claudio Castagnoli was stretchered out on Dynamite due to the violent attack from Jay White’s goons. Removing Claudio from the equation brings the Death Riders down to four plus Shafir. That also conveniently opens room for the Conglomeration trio of Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly. We’ll see how that math shakes out.
In the trios title scene, Swerve Strickland wants Texas Death. Kofi and Austin Creed aren’t so keen on that brand of violence for this rematch. Swerve seems determined to make Hangman accept the stipulation whether he likes it or not, and that will rope in all the rest. Brody King and probably Bandido seem willing after Swerve bloodied the luchador.
Before Full Gear comes Blood & Guts on Wednesday, November 4. Those caged wars should have an affect on the PPV in terms of health for champions and challengers. For example, Kyle Fletcher could target Will Ospreay to soften him with injury prior to the world title showdown.
Blood & Guts fallout could also present more matches to fill out Full Gear. Two title bouts make sense with Kazuchika Okada defending the AEW International Championship against Adam Copeland and Darby Allin defending the TNT Championship against either Kevin Knight or Wardlow.
What’s your opinion about the early lineup for Full Gear? Which matches do you think get added to the PPV? Which matches do you want to see added to the show?
