What is the story about?
J.J. McCarthy will be the backup quarterback for the New York Giants on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, less than two weeks after the Giants acquired him from the Minnesota Vikings. Jake Haener will be the emergency third quarterback.
McCarthy being QB2 means we could see him in certain packages on Sunday.
Running back Devin Singletary will be inactive for a third straight week for the Giants.
The Commanders get quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin back from injury.
They will, though, be without wide receiver Stefon Diggs and a trio of safeties. Nick Cross, Percy Butler, and Tyler Owens will all miss the game.
