On Thursday, a major recruiting move that has been in the works for weeks was finally made public. 3-Star offensive lineman, Jackson Hill, flipped his commitment from the UCLA Bruins to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
“The 6-5, 280-pounder is ranked as the No. 103 offensive tackle in America and No. 142 overall player in his home state. Hill, he is completely fine with all of that. He knows that this commitment is going to blow anyone away. He literally admits as much. However, he believes that over time, he’s going to prove his worth. For Notre Dame, the staff couldn’t be more excited about this pickup. Both sides are thrilled with how all of this played out behind the scenes.“
Hill is now the 16th commitment for Notre Dame’s 2027 football recruiting class, and the first one from the state of California. Notre Dame now has 11 different states that are represented in this class — a class that is currently ranked #3 in the nation according to the 247 Team Composite Rankings.
Hill is now the third offensive lineman in this class with more expected to come as early as this week. Notre Dame and Joe Rudolph are stacking talent in the trenches, so we can (and should) overlook the “just a 3-Star” thing right now. Hill will be given the opportunity to develop and compete during his time in South Bend.
