A football bye week leads to more attention to other fall sports for Huskers fans. Both basketball teams and volleyball came through with wins for the Big Red faithful. The volleyball team’s set streak
was broken by UCLA. The USC Trojans probably rue that achievement by their in-state rivals as the Huskers appeared determined to fix the problems that led to losing that set. Nebraska swept the Trojans in convincing fashion.
On the weather front, it was a beautiful weekend in northeast Nebraska. I was outside in short sleeves and still have some potted plants decorating the front stoop. Throw in some amazing northern lights during the past week and it is hard to imagine living anywhere else.
