While this isn’t a direct replacement for now-North Carolina Tar Heels assistant coach Jorge Sanza, this addition to the Gonzaga Bulldogs staff with Seattle U Redhawks assistant coach Bryce Douglas is an exciting one that can pay off through his ability to scout, develop talent, and analyze opponents.
Douglas was with the Seattle U program for three seasons from 2023-26. He has had a myriad of stops in his career in both the college basketball and professional scene.

A native of Tacoma, Washington,
Douglas was a player with the NCAA Division III’s Puget Sound Loggers from 2005-09.
Led by head coach Mark Few, Gonzaga’s 2026-27 staff currently includes his eventual replacement and assistant coach Brian Michaelson, assistant coach R-Jay Barsh, assistant coach Stephen Gentry, assistant coach Zach Norvell Jr., and general manager Kurt Bambauer.
