After consecutive road games, the 2-1 Los Angeles Rams return to home-cooking at SoFi Stadium for a Sunday, September 28 tilt with the unbeaten Indianapolis Colts. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PST. Although
Indy leads the all-time series 23-22-2, L.A. has won the last four meetings and provided Sean McVay his first home victory as the Rams head coach back in 2017.
Indianapolis has been one of the 2025 season’s surprise teams, trekking west with a 3-0 record. They knocked off the Miami Dolphins in the league opener 33-8, followed it by eking out a 29-28 win over the Denver Broncos, and last week toppled the Tennessee Titans 41-20. Indy sports the NFL’s #1 offense, their 34 points per game powered by strong efforts in both the running and passing games.
While the Colts are scoring points on a whopping 77% of their drives, by far the #1 team in the NFL, they share a problem that also plagues the Rams. Red zone touch down efficiency. Indy is punching in RZ touchdowns at a 44% clip, 26th in rankings, and lead the league in field goals converted (11 of 12). As a comparison, 45% of all Rams dives end with a score, they tally TD’s in the red zone at 46% (23rd rank) and have been successful on 6 of 8 field goals.
Indianapolis may be short three starters for Sunday’s matchup, wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion), guard Matt Goncalves (toe), and cornerback Kenny Moore (Achilles) have all been ruled out. Starting defensive tackle DeForrest Buckner (back) and kick returner Anthony Gould (illness) are questionable. Although the Rams started the week with an extended list of injuries, they enter the weekend with four questionable players, wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring), tackle Rob Havenstein (ankle), and a pair of tight ends, Tyler Higbee (hip) and Colby Parkinson (shoulder.
