With training camp now officially underway, the Detroit Lions gave their fans a surprise Thursday night when they dropped episode two of, “Inside the Den.” The latest episode of the Emmy-award winning series dove into the 2026 NFL Draft, and how Lions general manager Brad Holmes, coach Dan Campbell, and the rest of their staff operated in what was their sixth draft since taking the reigns in Detroit.
As always, the Lions’ media department did an excellent job when putting the episode together. From
documenting the approach the team took in the first-round when they had their eyes fixed on right tackle Blake Miller, to their decision to move up to draft Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore.
“Derrick Moore was our No. 1 guy, we have multiple fours,” Holmes said of his thought process to move up to draft Moore. “That’s why I felt like let’s not lose out on our top guy. That’s why we went ahead and just made the move up just to make sure that we secured them.”
We even got a Michigan-Ohio State joke from Principal Owner and Chair, Sheila Hamp, when the Lions drafted another Michigan defender in Jimmy Rolder. That brings us to today’s question of the day—what was your favorite moment from last night’s episode of “Inside the Den?”
My answer: I am going with the footage that we got from Lions offensive line coach Hank Fraley’s initial pre-draft meeting with Blake Miller. It was awesome to see Miller breeze through what is essentially the pop quiz section of the interview where he is asked to explain certain looks or checks to Fraley in real time. You could tell the rookie was really prepared, as he rattled off answers to his soon-to-be position coach. Fraley would go on to tell Miller that he really loved his tape and how he plays the game, and that hopefully he would be speaking with him again in the near-future.
What about you? What was your favorite moment from last night’s episode? Let us know why in the comments below.
