Cleveland Browns fans have always been wary of fast starts. The history of this organization since its return in 1999 has not been very positive, so it is easy to be skeptical. A really exciting win can always be followed up with a challenging loss. While the season is still early, there are reasons to be excited about this fast start.
After losing the opening game of the season, the Browns have not only won three straight games but have also shown fight and resilience in each of them. In Week 3’smatchup
against the Carolina Panthers, not every drive was pretty, but the team fought hard to put themselves in a position to march down the field for a game-winning drive. All facets of the game had to work well to win this matchup.
Cleveland had a similar experience in Week 4 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Browns defense in particular has exceeded expectations thus far after losing Myles Garrett this offseason. From Denzel Ward to Mason Graham to Carson Schwesinger, every aspect of the defense is working together effectively. With the defense playing at this level of dominance and Deshaun Watson and the offense giving the team a chance to stay in games, confidence is only growing.
The roster is also full of a lot of talented young players, which is helpful for fan-related hope. Considering Cleveland has one of the easiest schedules in the league, there is reason to feel like this season might be different.
Let me know what you think in the comments – Does the Browns’ 3-1 start feel different? If so, why?
