The Brooklyn Nets have filled out all three of their two-way contracts, signing 7-foot 24-year-old Grant Nelson who played for both Brooklyn and Long Island last season.
Nelson will join Chaney Johnson and second-round pick Tyler Bilodeau on the roster which now includes the maximum 15 players on standard deals as well as the three two-ways.

Nelson spent time first with Long Island then Brooklyn before his season was cut short due to patellar tendinitis, commonly known as “jumper’s knee.” After he went undrafted in 2025 out of Alabama, the Nets had signed him a year ago to an Exhibit 10 deal then assigned him to Long Island.
Throughout the season, he dealt with a nagging knee injury that had him on a minutes restriction with Long Island. It was an issue that had been nagging him since his freshman season at North Dakota State. Despite that, though, he was still able to fill up the stat sheet.
In 15 starts in the G League, he averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds per 36 minutes. That was following a seven-week rehab program with Long Island’s player performance team. Following his strong run, he earned a 10-day contract with Brooklyn. Across four games on the deal, Nelson played 35 minutes, putting up 17 points, six rebounds, six assists and three blocks.
It was a surprise to many when he didn’t get a second 10-day, but the news of his injury later explained the reasoning behind that.
During the off season, underwent treatment then spent time recovering and did not play in Summer League although he traveled with the team to both Sacramento and Las Vegas. He has long been considered likely to join the Nets on the final two-way .
