During the season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.
The Browns put on a lifeless performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, falling to 1-5. Making matters worse, Joe Flacco walked into Cincinnati a few days later and lit up the Steelers on Thursday Night Football. I mean, it was awesome to see Flacco do that and to see Pittsburgh lose, but it’s also indicative of just how badly-tuned this offense
is in Cleveland. With the loss, the Browns’ fan confidence was 13% this week, a decrease of 29 percentage points. Our opponents this week, the Miami Dolphins, have 3% confidence from their fanbase in the direction of their team. No wonder this game is barely being aired on TV across the country; not even the cities’ own fanbases want to watch the product on the field.
We asked two other questions to fans this week, the first of which asked whether fans think the Browns will beat the Dolphins today. To show how much the optimism has faded among fans, only 39% believe Cleveland will beat Miami, despite the Browns being favored for the first time this season.
Our other question asks what fans think the Browns should do if Cleveland loses to Miami: will they keep head coach Kevin Stefanski, or will he be fired? It was pretty decisive: 66% of fans think it’ll be time that Stefanski is shown the door. I wouldn’t have been in favor of it at the beginning of the season, but now you’re looking at a situation where the offense has taken such huge steps back that it seems to need a rebuild, and I don’t think we’ve seen Stefanski adapt well offensively over the years with the times.
