The Blazer’s Edge Best Things Ever Tournament Bracket rolls onward today. We’re nearing the end of the second round, but before we get there, we have some massive matchups to decide.
For those who missed the proceedings, to generate extra conversation during the dog days of NBA summer, we’re pitting 64 good things in life against each other, somewhat randomly arranged and nonsensically, in a March Madness Style bracket. Each day features two posts, each with a choice between two things. You think
about the pairing, then vote for one of the two in the comments section. At the end of it all, we’ll have a Best Thing Ever for 2026!
This post contains one of the most agonizing choices yet in the Tournament: Spouses vs. Ice Cream. How’d we ever get here?
Spouses need no introduction. If you have one, you already know. If you don’t, well, it’s an aspiration for many. (Though not all.) It’s that one person who’s with you through thick and thin, caring about you and supporting you, sharing not just today, but all that is to come.
But are today and the future even worth it without ice cream?!? Yeah, some people are lactose-intolerant. Bless you. For the rest of us, ice cream is the multi-flavored, feel-good dessert-slash-breakup-comfort-food-slash-occasional-dinner-substitute that makes everything better as soon as the spoon goes in the carton. I mean, come on. It’s ice cream!
Nobody can tell you how to vote. You can interpret “best” in any way you wish. But you gotta do it. Will it be spouses or ice cream advancing to the Sweet Sixteen? Share your nominee and the reasoning in the comments section below.
