Player Ratings: Sevilla 0 – 1 Real Madrid
Thibaut Courtois—8.5: Made six saves and kept Sevilla out during their early wave of pressure.
Dani Carvajal—5.5: Looked a step slow at times when marking Oso.
Antonio Rüdiger—6.5: Quiet overall, which is generally a good thing for a defender. His distribution was very solid.
Dean Huijsen—7: Strong clearances, important last-ditch tackles, and good coverage. Did gift the ball to Adams in the box once, but Sevilla failed to punish.
Fran García—6.5: Struggled at
times with Carmona and Ejuke, but recovered well against both and contributed useful overloads.
Aurélien Tchouaméni—6: Caught sleeping on the ball early, nearly leading to a Sevilla goal.
Jude Bellingham—7: Looked a bit clunky on the ball, but his defensive work was terrific. Made the most tackles on the field and deserved an assist after setting up Mbappé on a breakaway.
Thiago Pitarch—6: Made several poor passes out of the back, but redeemed himself with patience and composure in the build-up to Vinícius’s goal.
Brahim Díaz—6.5: Useful outlet in build-up throughout, though he lost the ball more than he should have. Solid dribbling and defensive effort.
Vinícius Jr—7.5: Real Madrid’s best attacker on the night. Took his goal really well and made two excellent passes in the box.
Kylian Mbappé—4: Horrendous finishing and execution. Failed to pull the trigger on a breakaway, and none of his five shots hit the target. His best moments came through link-up play in the first half in deeper positions.
