The Pittsburgh Steelers and former head coach Mike Tomlin made a tough decision to trade star receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys amidst alleged turmoil between Pickens and the locker room. Dallas is very happy with the trade, as Pickens turned in a huge season in 2025, and the Steelers pivoted to trading for talented receiver DK Metcalf from Seattle and rewarded him with a huge extension.
Hindsight is 20/20, but Pickens has flourished and clearly matured by playing on the franchise tag
with no pushback, while Metcalf has been on social media arguing with fans and even taking pictures of people and making fun of their appearance. Now, if Metcalf performs very well, nobody will care about the off-the-field antics, but if he doesn’t, the talk will only grow surrounding his demeanor and immaturity.
The 2026 season will be huge for Metcalf.
