Bayern Munich legend and supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is wary of Atalanta and its giant killing skills.
“They’re a small team that deserves respect. In recent years, they won the [UEL] final against Leverkusen, which was deserved in every sense. And then what we saw against Borussia Dortmund – no one in Germany thought Dortmund would be eliminated. At this stage of the Champions League, from the Round of 16 onwards, advancing requires humility, respect, focus, and never underestimating
your opponent. Bayern want to advance. We’re having a very good season, and we’re in contention for all our objectives,” Rummenigge told Gazzetta dello Sport (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich is a heavy favorite, but has been banged up and is on the road This will not be an easy task. However, Bayern Munich has been excellent this season and could be poised to exert its will on the home side, who will — no doubt — be looking to feed off the energy of its fans.
