- The Mariners claimed LHP Jose Castillo off waivers from the Mets and DFA’d Joe Jacques. Castillo will not be eligible to pitch in the post-season should the Mariners make it but can be used for the stretch run.
- RHP Sauryn Lao, recently DFA’d by Seattle, was picked up by the Nationals and optioned to Triple-A Rochester.
- The Mariners also announced reliever Jackson Kowar, currently in Tacoma, is going on the 15-day IL with right shoulder impingement. The move is retroactive to August 19.
