You have to give Jake Paul at least some credit because he knows very well he’s going in against Tank Davis with a distinct size advantage, labeling him a “tiny boy” in his first comments following the shocking news that they two will when they take part in an “exhibition” boxing bout on Nov. 14, 2025 on Netflix.
Posting on X, “El Gallo” said he is tired of the disrespect he’s been getting from the current WBA Lightweight champion, who is undefeated at 3o-0-1 with 28 knockouts on his resume. As a result,
he’s out to disable Tank in Atlanta come fight night.
“Gervonta who has been disrespecting my name for too long. His nickname might be Tank, but I’m an FPV drone and I’m about to disable tiny boy,” he said. “Yes, he’s one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds. And I like my odds. First, I am going to kill David, then I will go on to slaughter Goliath.”
Goliath is likely in reference to Anthony Joshua, a fight Paul has been lobbying for before talks of a potential scrap between them were halted, leading to the Tank bout.
Speaking of which, while Davis — who weighed in at just under 134 pounds for his title fight against Lamont Roach Jr. earlier this year — will be going in the smaller fighter against a man who tipped the scales at just under 200 pounds a few months ago for his last fight, he does have superior skills when it comes to actual boxing.
That said, we must remember that this will be nothing more than an exhibition bout, so until we know the rules and stipulations — as well as weight class — that will be implemented for this showcase, there is really no sense in getting excited at the possibility of seeing Davis trying to knock Paul’s’ head off.
Still, there will likely be plenty of people who will tune in to see the latest Paul circus show expecting at least some sort of entertainment come fight night. Whether or not we get it, is another story.
