It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means… time for the blog that gives you the internet’s most ridiculous college football preview series- it’s #FakeNunes time. Can we keep finding ways to get #jokesandgarbage
into a Syracuse Orange preview? You be the judge….
Now onto this week’s opponent
Opponent: Duke Blue Devils
Location: Durham, NC
Students: 16,780 students who can’t believe they are paying a quarterback more than a point guard
The 2025 Fake Nunes Statistical Index (#FNSI)
We continue to look to innovate our analytics model so we here’s what the lab cooked up for this season.
Rivalry Trophy
The FNSI staff won’t give up on their quest to bring back more tradition into today’s college game. Let’s see what they’ve got for this one
The Paulus Cup
A fitting honor for the original Devil to wear Orange.
Jersey Boys
Fran Brown wants to reclaim the Garden State so let’s see how the Orange stack up against each opponent.
The Orange have 17 players from Jersey on this year’s squad while Duke has a trio on the roster.
Advantage: Syracuse
Notable Alum
Bringing back this one as we love to drop, some knowledge every now and then to help our loyal readers possibly win a trivia night. After all we are the Syracuse blog that loves you back and we take that seriously.
Lisa Lampanelli vs Ken Jeong
We’re putting the insult comic and frequent Howard Stern guest against Mr. Chow. Lisa’s retired and podcasting and Dr. Ken is all over Fox’s prime-time game shows, so we’ll give the nod to man who paid homage to Lee Corso- a rare honorable feat for a Duke alum.
Advantage: Duke
Punter vs Punter
Kade Reynoldson was a freshman All-American last season. The sophomore from the Gold Coast of Australia was a national champion in the pole vault and his father was an Aussie Rules player.
Advantage: Duke
Orangeawatha Miron Court Special Menu Item
Thanks to Orangeawatha we now that the Miron Victory Court will have a specialty item for each opponent this year. With a Noon kickoff and Family Weekend, we suggest that chicken and waffles would be the perfect choice for Saturday.
Fran Brown Hat Tracker
Fran has broken out some solid looks this season and the fact that he’s gone to this one twice means he must be a fan.

The Official #FakeNunes Game Prediction
This game is set up to be a shoot out which means it’ll likely start slow as the late-arriving Family Weekend crowd strolls in from brunch. Rickie Collins and Darian Mensah start to heat up in the middle of this game and it goes back and forth until the final minutes. Just as the Orange appear to have the go-ahead touchdown, Side Judge Tony Greene comes in and calls offensive pass interference on Johntay Cook. Syracuse has to try a long field goal which slides wide right and Duke escapes much to the ire of Jim Boeheim who is seen throwing his jacket in the Chancellor’s Box.
Final Score: Duke 38, Syracuse 37
