At this point, no one expects Cleveland Browns LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah to play professional football again. While anything is possible as JOK looks to recover from his neck injury while avoiding surgery, the Browns and their faithful fans can no longer hold out much hope of Owusu-Koramoah’s return.
For the 2026 season, that became clear when the team announced that JOK would be pursuing his Master’s Degree from Harvard in the fall. At the NFL combine, Cleveland GM Andrew Berry had noted a return
was unlikely, but didn’t close the door on anything.
Friday, at the start of rookie minicamp, the Browns ended any chance of Owusu-Koramoah playing in 2026 by placing him on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. Cleveland made the same move with JOK at this time last year.
In four seasons after being drafted in the second round out of Notre Dame, Owusu-Koramoah established himself as one of the most versatile linebackers in the NFL, including making the Pro Bowl in 2023.
Along with the JOK announcement, the Browns added a note about designating P Nik Constantinou as the team’s international player. Constantinou was signed to a futures/reserve contract in January. The Texas A&M product went undrafted in 2024 and spent that season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.
