Better to be safe than sorry …
Following UFC Qatar yesterday (Sat., Nov. 22, 2025) inside ABHA Arena in Doha, Qatar, company officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that three fighters were transported to a local
New York hospital for precautionary reasons after their violent bouts.
The fighters were UFC Qatar headliner Dan Hooker, Middleweight-turned Welterweight Jack Hermansson
, and top-15-ranked Flyweight Tagir Ulanbekov.
Hooker (24-13) was transported for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face after absorbing a two-round beatdown that ended in a second-round submission loss to Arman Tsarukyan (watch highlights). The defeat snapped Hooker’s three-fight win streak, which included victories over Mateusz Gamrot, Jalin Turner, and Claudio Puelles.
“The Hangman” entered the bout following a 15-month layoff caused by multiple hand fractures. While the loss won’t dramatically affect his place in the division, expect UFC to book him in a fan-friendly matchup in 2026 — especially for stepping up for fighting Tsarukyan when no one else would.
Hermansson (24-10) was also taken for a precautionary CT scan following a brutal knockout loss to Myktybek Orolbai (watch highlights). The setback comes just five months after suffering an even worse knockout at UFC 317, courtesy of Gregory Rodrigues (watch it)
“The Joker” is now riding a two-fight skid and is 1-3 in his last four. A major question looms: does he stay at Welterweight or return to Middleweight?
Ulanbekov (17-3) was sent to the hospital for CT scans of his head, face, and leg after a submission defeat to a returning Kyoji Horiguchi (watch highlights). The loss snapped his four-fight win streak, which included wins over Azat Maksum, Clayton Carpenter, Cody Durden, and Nate Maness.
For what it’s worth, Ulanbekov entered UFC Qatar ranked No. 11 at Flyweight — a spot Horiguchi may now claim.
The results of both fighters’ scans are currently unknown, though they have since been released from the hospital.
It is normal for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles that are full of damage or after suffering nasty knockouts.
