According to a report from The Times (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich star striker Harry Kane “is expected” to ink a contract extension that will run through 2029 in Bavaria. In addition, Kane, who is driven by a hunger for more trophies, is not expected to seek a big increase to his current salary:
Harry Kane is expected to extend his contract at FC Bayern until 2029. Talks are set to take place this week when the player returns from vacation. The expectation is that Kane’s salary of around
€25m gross per year will not be significantly changed. Kane is very comfortable living in Munich, as are his family.
Although he was once expected to return to England to chase Alan Shearer’s Premier League record, Kane is now more interested in winning further trophies with Bayern. After winning two Bundesliga titles, the major remaining objective for both the striker and the club is the Champions League.
If true, this would be a big win for the Bavarians and for Kane as well. The relationship has been mutually beneficial since its inception and Bayern Munich looks to be a major favorite to win the Champions League for at least the next two seasons.
For once, it seems like this could be a seamless set of negotiations.
