The Bayern Munich squad continues to stand firmly behind Jamal Musiala after the young star collapsed on the pitch for the second game in a row.
Speaking about Musiala, Harry Kane summed up the feelings within the dressing room.
“When you see the scenes from yesterday and Saturday, it’s not a pretty sight, because he’s our teammate and friend. He just wants to get back on the pitch as quickly as possible,” Kane said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Musiala has endured a difficult period, and seeing a teammate
and close friend suffer through his injury recovery and then have to deal with “neurological absences” is understandably difficult for everyone around him.
For Bayern Munich, however, the priority is clear — Musiala needs to be given the time and support required to get back to being at his best. The 23-year-old remains one of the most important players in Vincent Kompany’s squad, and his creativity, ability to beat defenders and influence in the final third will be crucial once he is fully fit.
But before thinking about what Musiala can provide on the pitch, Bayern Munich’s players are focused on supporting him away from it. Football can often be about competition and results, but moments like this show the other side of the game.
Musiala’s teammates want nothing more than to see him healthy, confident, and back on the pitch.
