Eddie Kingston’s career hit its peak to date by becoming a triple champion across AEW, NJPW, and ROH. Unfortunately, the Mad King suffered a serious setback due to injury. Upon return, Kingston laid low, mostly competing in ROH alongside Ortiz. Now, he is back in the groove with ambitious goals.
First, Kingston entered the AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament. He will wrestle Claudio Castagnoli in the quarterfinals this Saturday on Collision (Aug. 22, 2026). Kingston isn’t stopping there. He has
his eyes on another championship.
Kingston wants to challenge Hechicero for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship in Arena Mexico. He sent in a promo to air on CMLL Informa. Kingston wants the Alchemist at his best and without the Callis Family. One-on-on, dog.
Hechicero is coming in hot from winning the International Grand Prix. He also secured a singles win by tying Mascara Dorada’s legs into a pretzel on Tuesday night in Arena Mexico.
No date has been announced yet for that potential match.
Imagine a world where Kingston wins the AEW Continental Cup at All In in Wembley Stadium, and he wins the CMLL heavyweight strap in Arena Mexico. It’s not too far of a dream to achieve for the Mad King. He could still reach new heights for his career around the world.
