Game notes
- Well, the Boston Bruins will look to extend its early-season winning streak tonight as the Buffalo Sabres come to town.
- As the Bruins continue to build upon their team and new line combos, you can already see things start to come together as 10 Bruins have registered at least a point through two games.
- It’s only two games in, but Elias Lindholm already looks better than he did all last season. Lindholm has collected a goal in each game with three points total. David Pastrnak already has four points on one goal and three assists.
- The Bruins were off yesterday so there hasn’t been an update on Hampus Lindholm who left after the first period on Thursday with a lower-body injury.
- There’s something so nice about seeing the B’s power play at 28.6% and penalty kill at 100% — it’s not going to last so enjoy the nice stats now! Again, everything is too early to tell how special teams will play out, but penalty kill looks solid with how its killed off all eight penalties so far.
- Buffalo dropped its first game of the season on Wednesday as they were blanked, 4-0, by the New York Rangers.
- The Sabres are only one game in and already stricken with some injuries and illnesses. Josh Norris is being evaluated for an upper-body injury after leaving Thursday’s game. Owen Power remains out on illness. Zach Benson had a face injury, and isn’t slated to return until next well.
- The Sabres recalled forward Josh Dunne from the AHL’s Rochester Amerks for some help.
