Goaltender Roberto (“Leo”) Henriquez has committed to Boston College for the 2026-27 season, according to reports by the BC Hockey Blog and Nathan Strauss
Henriquez was previously committed to UNH but flipped his commitment following a stellar season with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL. Henriquez posted a league leading .921 save percentage and 2.22 goals against average in 37 appearances for Green Bay this season, with a 21-9-4
record — showing significant improvement over 2024-25, when he initially struggled making the jump to the USHL level.
Henriquez, whose father is from the Dominican Republic and whose mother is from Slovakia, was born in Bratislava, the same city as new teammate and fellow BC goalie Jan Korec. He played for HC Slovan Bratislava’s youth teams growing up before moving over to North America. He was selected as a backup goalie for Slovakia’s World Junior team this past season, and will turn 19 later this month, meaning he could be eligible to make the team again this year.
With Alex Musielak officially entering the transfer portal today, BC now has three goalies set to compete next year – returning starter Louka Cloutier, Korec, and Henriquez. Time will tell who gets the nod on opening day, but Henriquez adds a talented and intriguing prospect to BC’s goaltending stable as the Eagles look to bounce back into the NCAA tournament in 2026-27.
