Bayern Munich and center-back Dayot Upamecano have been rumored to be at a stalemate on talks, but the player does not sound as if he has plans to go anywhere.

“It has nothing to do with money. I talk a lot

with Max Eberl and Christoph Freund. I’m happy here, I’m having a good season, I’m doing my job, and I’m giving everything for this club. Let’s see what happens,”

It sure sounds like Upamecano is leaning towards an extension with Bayern Munich. However, if we want to play the semantics game (Why not? It’s Monday morning), we already know that that contract money has been agreed upon for months already.

Where the gap remains is with a signing bonus and with a release clause. Those are not insurmountable measures by any means. Bayern Munich has given players both, but there is a newfound strategy to limit overspending for the Bavarians — and that could be a potential roadblock for the deal to get done.

It is believed that the club has a threshold for each player at each position that it will not exceed. Is Bayern Munich already there with Upamecano? Will the club loosen things up for such a key player?

Now, Fenerbahçe could be seeking to try and lure the Polish Hitman to Türkiye:

Turkish club Fenerbahçe are preparing an offer to sign Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, AS has revealed. The LaLiga giants are open to letting Lewandowski, whose contract expires at the end of the season, leave and Fenerbahçe have presented him with an 18-month contract offer. Lewandowski’s primary focus is to play regular first-team football ahead of a potential appearance at the FIFA World Cup with Poland next summer — which is almost certainly his final opportunity to appear at the tournament.

Tottenham to miss on Hjulmand (Spurs Web)

Tottenham Hotspur could miss on one of its most coveted transfer targets — Sporting CP’s Morten Hjulmand:

The Record, as relayed by Sport Witness, have delivered an update on Hjulmand and it is not good news for Tottenham.

Sporting are interested in bringing in new arrivals in January. However, there are no plans to sell any members of their first-team squad, including the midfielder, who is seen as a main asset.

Any potential January sale of Hjulmand is viewed as non-negotiable and he has a £71m release clause in his contract, which Sporting do not expect any club to pay midway through the season.

If true, this could play a role in the decision for Tottenham to keep Bayern Munich loanee João Palhinha or allow him to return to the Bavarians.

It appears that Bayern Munich made the right call in offloading Mathys Tel to Tottenham Hotspur. The Frenchman could already be on the move:
