According to a report from Sky Sports, British heavyweight Fabio Wardley has been in recent discussions to face Joseph Parker in a fight that would take place on October 25 at London’s O2 arena.
Parker and his team had been pushing for a mandatory title shot against Oleksandr Usyk but Usyk had recently requested an extension to negotiate with Parker citing injury, only for a video to circulate of Usyk tearing up the dance floor looking plenty spry. That video would agitate Team Parker a bit, questioning
the legitimacy of Usyk’s claimed injury, but hasn’t stopped them from looking elsewhere in the event the Usyk fight doesn’t come together.
That apparently puts Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs) in good position to be Parker’s next likely opponent. Wardley is most recently coming off a 10th round stoppage over Justis Huni in June, following his swift knockout over Frazer Clarke in their late 2024 rematch.
