The Guardians will start Shawn Armstrong again tonight, as he will pitch in his third straight game in the ALCS.
The Armstrong sinker is really working right now:
Yandy Diaz, apparently, suffered from an aggressive translation,
last night, when his interpreter had him saying “This ends tomorrow night” vs. what he really said which was more like “I think this ends tomorrow night”:
Still, hey, if that can add a little motivation for Cleveland, I’m all for it. But, you’d also think the Guardians’ motivation would be high given that a pennant is on the line.
Travis Bazzana had a terrible at-bat to end yesterday’s game, but he has mostly been unlucky rather than bad at the plate this postseason.
Does that change where the Guardians are currently? No. But, it’s important context to keep in mind as we assess the rookie’s first postseason.
Speaking of luck, I better not hear any CtC folks accusing the Rays of being lucky. We have followed the Guardians long enough to know that contact, speed, athleticism and strikeout-stuff from your pitchers allows you to make your own luck.
