AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view is coming up on November 14 in Phoenix, and President Tony Khan didn’t waste any time announcing title matches for the show.
Shortly after Mark Davis and Jake Doyle squashed their way to a non-title victory against AEW World Tag Team Champions Young Bucks on Dynamite, the rematch was announced for Full Gear, this time with the belts on the line. Don Callis’ plan is to weaken the Bucks even more in the Blood & Guts match on November 4.
The AEW women’s world tag team championship
is also on the line at Full Gear. Jamie Hayter is ready to go, which means the Brawling Birds will defend their titles against number one contenders Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron. Both babyface teams were beat down on Dynamite at the hands of Divine Dominion and Triangle of Madness. Perhaps this is leading to either the second ever women’s Blood & Guts match (only a dummy would forget that last year was the first such match, right??), or an 8-woman tag team match before Full Gear.
Two other title matches were heavily teased for Full Gear. First up is Marina Shafir confronting AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Mone when she asked who’s next. This segment got a whole lot of fans speculating about Ronda Rousey returning to AEW, given her friendship with Shafir.
Finally, Swerve Strickland and New Level are upset about losing the AEW world trios championship back to Hangman Page and Brodido, so Swerve challenged his longtime rival to one more trios title rematch at Full Gear, this time in a Texas Death match. Hangman wants the rematch but actually declined the stipulation, mostly because he refuses to put Bandido and Brody King through that kind of hell. However, I don’t think AEW would tease a Texas Death match if it wasn’t happening, and Swerve seems confident that he will find a way to change Page’s mind (maybe with arson?).
Do you like how the card for Full Gear is already shaping up with these two official title matches and two other probables? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
