Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies, June 19, 2026, 8:40 p.m. ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates are visiting Denver for a weekend series against the Colorado Rockies.
Taking the mound for the Pirates is Bubba Chandler, who went 5.2 innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs in his last start against the Miami Marlins. It was one of the better outings of the season for Chandler, who had given up three or more runs in each of his last five appearances. Chandler’s last win came on June 2 against the Houston Astros, when he pitched five innings and gave up four runs but
had strong run support from the offense.
The Rockies will counter with their Opening Day starter, Kyle Freeland, who is off to a 1-7 start this season with a 7.98 ERA. Freeland is looking for his first win since April 7 and is coming off a start in which he gave up 10 hits and 6 earned runs in 5.2 innings against the Athletics on June 13.
The Rockies have lost eight of their last nine games in which Freeland starts, which gives hope for the Pirates as they look for their third straight victory after beating the Athletics on Tuesday and Wednesday in Sacramento to pull out a big series win on the road.
