The UFC Vegas 121 staredowns, which followed today’s early (and official) weigh ins at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, had its share of interesting moments — like the face off between Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Deputy Luis Hernandez and convicted felon Sedriques Dumas.
But Hernandez wasn’t the only one sworn to protect and serve.
A handful of condoms also saw action at today’s scale-tipping festivities, courtesy of women’s bantamweight attraction Norma Dumont. “The Immortal”
launched a fistful of rubbers at opponent Ailín Perez, who is popular among fans for her post-fight twerking.
That said, not everyone under the UFC banner is a fan of Ailin’s “disgusting” rump shaking.
That includes Dumont, who claims Perez has no shame in her personal or professional life. To that end — and I’m just spitballing here — I think the money and condoms hurled at the Argentinian were meant to suggest prostitution; which to be fair, is still legal in Las Vegas (or so I’ve heard).
“Everything that’s happening needs to go viral, you know what I mean? It’s great entertainment, and she’s not taking advantage of that,” Perez told MMA Fighting. “I’m selling the fight, like I always do with all my fights. It’s very hard to be a star in a category where the girls don’t post and talk about what happens outside of the fight, which is what we need, you know? So, I’m doing double the work.“
Looks like Dumont is finally pulling her weight (along with a few other things).
