Duke fans got a good idea of just how good Kon Knueppel could be early last year from the Brotherhood Podcast, which asked every member of the team this question: who has surprised you most?
To a man, they said Kon Knueppel.
It didn’t take long to see why. He was smart, as we saw when he did this, and he unveiled a really solid all-around game.
Now a Charlotte Hornet, we’re waiting to see how well his game translates to the NBA. Our guess is better than a lot of people expected, not least of all because
he can really shoot, but also because he’s wicked smart. Someone asked Cooper Flagg last year what he’d want if he was on a desert island. Flagg said, a gun, some food and Kon Knueppel.
This article looks at his potential with the Hornets, but it also has an unexpected endorsement, and it’s a strong one.
From whom?
From Bill Simmons, who doesn’t just think Knueppel is going to be good, but who thinks that he’s going to be a key asset for…wait for it…
The 2028 Olympic team.
You know, we could imagine that, but it honestly hadn’t occurred to us. It’s an interesting take and it makes sense. Check it out!
