A noble run comes to an ignoble end.
All year, the Guardians’ bullpen was tremendous. Today, the relief pitching- primarily Erik Sabrowski and Hunter Gaddis let them down. They wouldn’t have been here without either Sabrowski or Gaddis and both were pitching their third game in a row.
I will do some further review of this game tomorrow morning. Suffice it to say, this entire season should issue a clear and obvious imperative to the Dolan ownership group to spend some money and get this team some help
for Jose Ramirez while his peak continues. They have the heart and the pitching. They need a couple sticks.
It was exciting to see young hitters like George Valera and Chase DeLauter get a chance to help. I would say even adding one, proven, middle-of-the-order bat might do the trick. No excuses, Paul, Chris and Mike – get it done.
Overall, this was an incredibly special bunch who pulled off the greatest comeback in the history of professional baseball. I am always going to look on this team and this season with immense fondness, even as I despise seeing the Tigers celebrate on our field
I am sure Detroit feels they have slayed their giant. Maybe. Personally, if the team will bump payroll to $120-130 million, I like our chances of ruining their dreams for real next year.
Guardos never say die. I’ll always love the 2025 Cleveland Guardians and I can’t wait to see this group play in 2026.
