Jaguars fans — are you confident the team is headed in the right direction?
And are you surprised by Trevor Lawrence’s recent play, or did you know it was in him all along?
Lawrence has been on fire in the five games since Jacksonville’s Week 10 collapse in Houston.
Here are his stats in that span, via PFF:
- 13 passing touchdowns (1st)
- 8.6 yards per attempt (1st)
- 11.3 average depth of target (2nd)
- 90.0 PFF grade (2nd)
- 8.0 big-time throw rate (3rd)
- 107.0 passer rating (3rd)
“I thought he was very accurate with the football,” head coach Liam Coen said after Lawrence’s 6 total touchdown performance in Week 15. “Started hot, allowing these guys to be able to catch and run, especially over the middle of the field. The vertical throws I thought were very impressive.
“Very proud of Trevor and his preparation, the way that he’s practiced, the way that he’s continued to lead our offense and do what we’re asking him to do at a high level, though. He’s playing at a high level right now.”
I’ve written numerous feature-length articles about Lawrence over the years, all essentially saying, “He’s good, I swear!” So I’m feeling pretty vindicated this week. What about you?
