The defending Super Bowl champions are 1-0 after narrowly defeating the New England Patriots. However, in that effort they lost their starting quarterback, Sam Darnold for at least
a few weeks. With these highs and lows of week one, how do Seahawk fans feel heading into their week two game against the Arizona Cardinals?
Well, it appears that Seattle fans are feeling quite confident. When asked if the Seahawks are heading in the right direction, a whopping 95% of polled fans said the team is headed in the right direction. And honestly, who could blame them. Despite losing Darnold to a glute injury, Mike Macdonald’s defense put on a show against the Patriots. In addition to this, backup quarterback, Drew Lock has proven multiple times now that he can lead the team to a victory.
Another positive coming out of week one for the Seahawks was how Jadarian Price looked in his NFL debut. Although Price only had 24 snaps in week one, his workload is expected to increase. When asked about the light workload for Price, offensive coordinator, Brian Fleury stated that they “wanted to be cautious in terms of his workload.” Fleury went on to state that Price has “earned more reps moving forward.”
Perhaps this statement from Fleury helped inspire Seahawk fans’ optimism in Price as well. When asked which former Notre Dame running back will have more rushing yards on Sunday, 82% of polled Seahawk fans voted for Price. The other 18% of polled Seahawk fans voted for Price’s former teammate, and fellow rookie, Jeremiyah Love.
In week one, Price ran the ball 10 times for 52 yards. In comparison, Love ran the ball11 times for 41 yards. Although the poll only looked at rushing yards, for those who are curious, Price also caught two passes for six yards, while Love caught two passes for nine yards. As you can see, these stat lines are awfully close with Price having the slight edge after week one.
It will be fascinating to see how these two former teammates compare not only next week against the Cardinals, but also deeper into the 2026 season. Both are in somewhat similar positions on the depth chart this season. Both backs are number one, however they both have some veteran running backs in their room who will steal some carries away. In Arizona, Love has Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight behind him. In Seattle, Price has George Holani and Emanuel Wilson behind him. Both backs also have big name veterans currently on injured lists who will surely take carries away when they both get back healthy. For Love in Arizona, that is James Conner (who is currently on injured reserve). For Price in Seattle, that is Charbonnet (who is currently on the physically unable to perform list.)
This will surely be one to watch all season.
