Harry Kane had himself a day away to Hoffenheim, scoring three goals en route to a 4-1 thrashing of the hosts. He was given the nickname “Hattrick” Kane by DAZN commentators, whereupon he quips that “Hattrick Harry is what they used to call me in school when I was younger.” (via @iMiaSanMia)
Despite the big win, the Englishman had to concede (which Manuel Neuer did in the 82nd minute of the match) that the hosts made the match difficult for them. “It was a tough game,” Kane admitted. “We weren’t at our
best in the first half, credit to the opponent who made it difficult for us. The goal we scored certainly helped. In the second half we were better and showed more of our real level.”
Kane is the main reason why Bayern were off to a flyer for the 2025/26 season, contributing goals and assists, and invaluable off the ball movement.
When Bayern Munich traveled to Sinsheim on a short week after taking down Chelsea FC in the Champions League, it was never going to be easy.
Hoffenheim is well-coached, motivated, and playing with a real fire. For a weary Bayern Munich side, that meant trouble, but Vincent Kompany heavily rotated his men and while it was not always dominant or even pretty, the Bavarians showed their grit once again in a 4-1 win.
