Alex Pereira’s head coach, Plinio Cruz, proved that he’s more than just the guy behind the guy earlier today (Sat., Oct. 10, 2026) at Misfits Boxing 30 LIVE on DAZN PPV from inside Copper Box Arena in London, England, stopping Chase DeMoor’s coach, Gary Olive, with a second-round TKO.
Cruz, who has a 8-9 professional MMA record to his name, has never competed in strictly a boxing match. The 40-year-old veteran was originally expected to fight DeMoor himself, but the influencer pulled a Houdini and
withdrew from the contest less than a week ago. Instead, DeMoor called upon his own coach to challenge Cruz and take a win home for his team.
Unfortunately for Team DeMoor, Cruz wouldn’t be denied in his return to fighting. While he’s spent the past five years helping turn Pereira into one of the most iconic fighters on the UFC roster it doesn’t appear that Cruz has forgotten his roots. It took the Brazilian heavyweight just two rounds to impose his will. When the dust settled, Olive was left in the corner of the ring unable to continue.
Check out Cruz’s second-round TKO finish below and let us know if you want to see the coach of Alex Pereira fight again in the future!
