The Premier League is trying to capitalize on the huge interest in soccer in the United States, precipitated by this summer’s World Cup by staging fan events across the country for each of the 20 Premier League clubs participating this season.
The initiative, named “Coast to Coast”, will celebrate football, community, and club pride, bringing the excitement of the Premier League Kick Off directly to U.S. fans.
Built around a series of 20 official Premier League watch parties linked to the 10 matches
on opening weekend, each bespoke activation will celebrate The Kick Off by immersing fans in the identity and culture of the Premier League and the hosting club, bringing together both new and long-time fans. Fans can tune in to watch all Premier League matches next season live across the platforms of NBCUniversal and Versant’s USA Network.
Tottenham’s fan event will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 in Austin, Texas. If you live in Austin or in the surrounding area, you can register your interest in attending by filling out a short online form at the Premier League website. You can also see the schedule and location for the other 19 Premier League clubs (presumably so you can either gatecrash with your Spurs shirt on, or avoid that part of town altogether.
Speaking about this new fan initiative, Premier League U.S. Managing Director Akash Jain said:
“The rising interest in soccer among new audiences across the United States, combined with the faithful support of our long-time fans, made this the perfect time to create an event of this scale. We have seen fans in the U.S. fully embrace soccer on a global stage, and we want to show them that it’s all here in the Premier League too. Fans, new and old can take part and support their clubs every weekend by getting up early to watch elite players and managers in the most competitive league in the world. ‘Coast to Coast’ will showcase the best parts of Premier League and club culture and kick off the new season in a welcoming and exciting environment to leave a lasting impression on all fans.”
And if you like this sort of thing, four-time GRAMMY Award winner and Ipswich Town superfan Ed Sheeran will celebrate the club’s return to the league with soccer fans during a special matchday gathering. It’s not clear from the press release exactly where Sheeran will appear and (presumably) perform.
I’ve been to a couple of Spurs fan events over the years and they’re a fun opportunity to gather with fellow Spurs fans and meet people, hang out, and enjoy each other’s company. If you live in or near Austin, it might be a good way for you to connect with fellow fans and watch the first match of the season.
Tottenham kick off their 2026-27 Premier League campaign away at Brentford on Saturday, August 22. Kickoff time is 12:30 p.m. ET, 11:30 a.m. CT, and 5:30 p.m. BST.
