Hansi Flick faced the media on Tuesday to preview his team’s Champions League opener against Dutch side Feyenoord on Wednesday at Camp Nou.
The Barcelona boss made it pretty clear that he’s thrilled with the way his team have started the season and is now hoping they can continue that form in the Champions League.

Flick on the Champions League
“It’s the biggest competition and we have the ability to win it, but it’s a very long road; all the big clubs dream of winning it and we have to prove
it.
“We have many experienced players. The important thing is the team. We all have to give our all, every single day. We have four wins in four games, and that’s not easy.
“Now it seems that everything is going well, but although I see a lot of quality and intensity, I also see that there’s a clear vision and communication. We have to stick together on the pitch to fight better, to help each other. Everyone is there for that, and I’m seeing it.”
Flick on Lamine Yamal
“He’s a player who can decide matches single-handedly. He has enormous quality and he loves to improve. What I also see now is his responsibility as captain. He enjoys football and that’s important for him to be at his best.”
Flick on Anthony Gordon
“He’s going to score goals, he has had chances and missed but he makes the last pass very well to score the goal. He’s a very important player and he’ll score goals, I’m not worried. I’m very happy with his performance both in defence and in attack.”
Flick on Jesse Bisiwu
“Tomorrow he won’t be in the team, he’s fine, he’s trained and the idea is that he trains with us and plays with Barça Atlètic. He’s doing very well. He is very connected to us. He has offensive and defensive potential. I think he will be able to play with us in the future.”
Flick on Frenkie de Jong
“He’s a great player and I appreciate having him in the team. He needs to train hard and recover. His injury is progressing as planned. He might return in a few weeks. We’ll see after the international break. I spoke with him this morning and he’s doing well.”
