Chicago might be two points away from the bottom of the table but ever since coach Ella Masar took over as interim coach in July, the Stars haven’t lost.
In week 17, they faced off against the North Carolina Courage and it wasn’t an easy game for them with the home side facing a 2-0 deficit in the 62nd minute. The Stars looked to pull one back but they had to wait 14 minutes until Ludmila, who entered the game in the second half, could find the back of the net.
And what a screamer that was!
She was just getting started because only five minutes later, she evened things up.
After that, the Courage came alive again and Jaedyn Shaw showed her team could also play. In that way, in the 83’ Shaw found the back of the net and it looked like the visitor were going to get the three points. However, Chicago’s attacker was far from over.
A brace wasn’t enough for her and she scored the equalizer only three minutes later with a header.
It was a historic night that was for her, scoring a hat trick for Chicago in only 10 minutes! We also have to highlight the Stars’ attitude, which has been very different in the last few matches played.
Therefore, it is no wonder Ludmila received this recognition this week. Well done!
