The Texas-sized showdown of the Houston Texans (0-3) against the Dallas Cowboys (1-2) is more exciting on paper than in reality. These two teams have struggled out of the gate and are desperate to turn their seasons around in Week 4.
FanDuel has you covered whether you’re from Texas or just looking for some additional action this weekend. Below are the Spread, Moneyline, and Over/Under heading into the game against Dallas.
The Spread: Texans -2.5
Considering the Texans are 0-3 and haven’t looked competent on offense since
the first half of the first game of the season, this is an astonishing line. I cannot imagine Reliant Stadium will be rocking. If anything, this could be a stadium quick to turn on the team if they fall behind. The Cowboys, though 1-2 entering the contest, have scored 20, 37, and 31 points. Houston hasn’t proved it can move the ball against even the weakest of defenses, as seen against the Colts, which doesn’t bode well against a high-powered offense.
Until the Texans win a game, take the opponent and the extra points for insurance.
Moneyline: Texans -136
The Texans are 3-4 all time against the Cowboys. Given their recent struggles and lack of anything expected to change, It’s hard to believe the Texans can steal a win against the Cowboys.
What will be interesting to watch is if the defense can keep a lid on the Cowboys passing attack. Derek Stingley Jr. and Kamari Lassiter have not impressed and are concerning when paired up against CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. At this juncture in the seasons, it’s difficult to believe the Texans will outright beat an opponent. Wait till they are, hopefully, on a role before taking them straight up.
Over/Under: 47.5
The Texans went well under last week’s line of 44.5 against the Colts as well as the 45.5 mark against the Bengals, but managed to blow out the Over/Under against the Bills in a high-scoring matchup. This Over/Under is a tad elevated compared to the two previous lines, most likely due to the high-octane offense in Dallas. That said, Houston’s current offensive form doesn’t bode well to betting the over. If Nico Collins is back in the lineup, then the over is something to consider. Collins’ presence unlocks the passing game and lessens the pressure on the run.
The Cowboys defense have allowed a bevy of points thus far. They’ve given up 28, 20, and 34 points in their three matchups. Given how porous their defense has been AND if Nico Collins is set to go Sunday, then take the Over in a competitive and integral matchup between two teams vying to keep their seasons alive early in the 2026 campaign.
