The Indianapolis Colts announced their Week 18 inactives on the road against the Houston Texans for the regular season finale:
No real surprises here, as cornerback Sauce Gardner (calf) and tight end Will Mallory (lung) had already been ruled out ahead of the weekend. Given that the Colts have already been eliminated from playoff contention, and Gardner has been shut down for the season, which he should’ve been ahead of last weekend’s game regardless.
Meanwhile, the group of defensive tackle Eric Johnson II, Reuben Lowery III, and safety George Odum all appear to be healthy scratches ahead of this one.
Lastly, unretired longtime veteran quarterback Philip Rivers will be serving as the emergency QB3, meaning he can be activated in-game if there are injuries to both rookie starter Riley Leonard and recently elevated QB2 Seth Henigan in this one—and they’re unable to play.
